Bermuda’s House of Assembly adjourned early, to February 2017

The Royal Gazette has reported on 8 December 2016 that, in light of recent public protests, the Speaker of the House of Assembly has made an announcement that Bermuda’s House of Assembly has been adjourned early (i.e. before the scheduled conclusion of its current session), with a view to starting its next session slightly earlier, on 3 February 2017.

I am still thinking about the significance of this from a legal, rather than a political, perspective – I will update the blogpost once I have a coherent set of thoughts.
