Bermuda container company caught up in Hanjin Shipping bankruptcy

It has been recently reported that Bermuda-based container owner Textainer Group Holdings Ltd has suffered the rejection by Hanjin Shipping of its leases on 20,000 containers, even though Hanjin has failed to return the container boxes to Asia as required.

An attorney has suggested to a US bankruptcy court that the task of returning the container boxes to Asia could would cost Textainer a sum in the region of $15 million to $20 million if the company has to pay to get them back there.
