Mrs. Justice Norma Wade-Miller’s career is noteworthy for a number of reasons, including the fact that she was the first woman to be appointed as a substantive Magistrate in Bermuda. She was then the first woman to be appointed as a Supreme Court Judge, and to sit as Bermuda’s Acting Chief Justice.

Her career is discussed further at the following website:

It might also be worth remembering that, in 2003, there was some controversy over the fact that she was not appointed as Bermuda’s Chief Justice on a full-time basis, when the former Chief Justice Richard Ground was appointed instead. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/centralamericaandthecaribbean/bermuda/1449945/Bermuda-in-row-over-new-judge.html
