Statue of Sir George Somers erected in Lyme Regis, Dorset

A statue of Sir George Somers has been erected in Lyme Regis, Dorset, which was his birthplace in the United Kingdom.

The connections between Lyme Regis, St. George’s in Bermuda, and Jamestown in Virginia are deep and strong, and they have been rightly recognized by the triple ‘twinning’ of these three historic, Atlantic towns.
